Part of the larger Hobart port area, Constitution Dock offers plenty of dining, shopping, and sightseeing opportunities. Used mainly by fishing boats and private yachts, the dock is famous for being the party venue for the annual Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. Grab a bite at one of the waterfront restaurants or seafood stalls at the northern end of the dock. Shop at Saturday's market of the nearby Salamanca Place, or spend time exploring historical buildings and structures, such as the 1899 steam crane and the 1935 drawbridge.     Beautiful is a walk around the docks of central Hobart. Both Constitution & Victoria side by side with historic and modern boats peacefully moored. Be hungry as plenty of seafood options beckon your.....  more »

    Hobart and surrounds are well worth a visit. So much to see and do. Restaurants and seafood are 2nd to none. We stayed at the Grand Chancellor hotel right opposite the marina. From here you can walk to the Salamanca Markets, great shopping and gardens right in the centre of Hobart. At the restaurants directly opposite the hotel you can dine on the freshest local Tasmanian seafood and have the most wonderful breakfasts by the water. It was here I snapped the photo of the seal as he came to the surface with the fish in its mouth. Just a beautiful city
