Wave Lagoon, Darwin

#7 of 128 in Theme Parks in Australia
Water Park · Water / Amusement Park
When stinging jellyfish populate the waters around Darwin, head for Wave Lagoon. Free of stingers and crocodiles, this wave-pool and swimming lagoon provide a safe place to cool off in the heat. The lagoon reaches a maximum depth of 2 m (6.5 ft), and the waves in the wave-pool climb to 1.7 m (5.6 ft). Catch the waves that suit you; wave intensity varies throughout each cycle. The wet season brings frequent storms from October to May, and lifeguards move visitors to sheltered areas when thunder and lighting are imminent. Leave extra time to wait for the usually brief outbursts to pass if you visit during this period. • We had a great time here. The water was a bit warm but the waves were fun. Plenty or rings etc to use. Lots of chairs and room there would definitely go again. Worth a visit.  more »
  • Fabulous place to chill and have fun. Family-friendly, good shades and the waves last for 10 minutes and have a pass every 30 minutes. The price is really good too. 18$ four family members
