Coral Bay Beach, Coral Bay

Beach · Scuba / Snorkeling
Coral Bay Beach is a settlement that lies on the coast near Australia's only fringing reef. The mild weather in the area ensures good conditions for fishing and reef exploration while camping and caravan sites along the water are full of visitors. The reef is as busy as the coastline with migrating whale sharks that scour the water for krill and nesting turtles that laying their eggs. Don't worry, the whale sharks are giants, but they filter the water for plankton, not swimmers. To visit Coral Bay Beach on your trip to Coral Bay, use our Coral Bay trip planning site.

  • Up there with Borocay and Bora Bora with my favourite beaches! The sealife so close to shore is amazing!  more »
  • Just off the beach you can snorkel to see so much coral and sea life. Go further out - but still within the protected reef - and you will see even more including turtles, sting rays, small sharks...  more »
  • Liked this place a lot. Clean water for bathing. From Pathos it’s easy to get there by bus №615
  • Coral bay is just beautiful in all seasons. Had a great morning down there today and is a short stroll from the main coral bay strip. Access is a little bumpy for wheel chairs or pushchairs so be aware if you have either. Otherwise it's lovely!
