Since 2009 the award winning Texas Longhorn Wagon Tours has been operating from Leahton Park. This is a unique tourist attraction and the only place in Australia where guests get the opportunity to take a canvas covered horse drawn wagon ride or Safari to see these magnificent & historic animals and to also learn some of the history of our cattle that are the direct descendants of the millions of Texas Longhorns that walked in the great trail herds from Texas in the late 1800's. Also on display are American Bison, Asian Water Buffalo, Scottish Highland, Indian Gyr cattle and the the huge horned African Ankole Watusi.
An important part of the Texas Longhorn Wagon Tour is the traditional Aussie Smoko under the shade trees at the homestead that features fresh brewed billy tea, fresh baked camp-oven damper and golden syrup, not to mention the other delicacies that are served all from the back of the genuine ‘Made in Texas’ Chuck Wagon. To cap it all off guests also get to take a tour of the renowned Bethel Saddlery custom saddle shop and see where some of the most sought after saddles in Australia are made. There is also a great little gift shop incorporated into the saddle shop. All experiences include a tour of the cattle working facilities and the ‘Longhorn Love Shack”
