Cable Beach, Broome

#1 of 134 in Beaches in Western Australia
Must see · Beach · Nature / Park
Come see one of Australia's most beautiful stretches of sand at Cable Beach. Taking its name from the undersea telegraph cable that stretches from here to Java, the wide beach offers 22.5 km (14 mi) of white sand that tides clean on a daily basis. Spend the day relaxing beneath the tropical sun and ride a camel at sunset along the perfectly flat beach. You can rent an umbrella for shade. Be careful of box jellyfish if you visit from November through March. Put Cable Beach at the forefront of your travel plans using our Broome trip site.

  • Worth a quick spot and wonder around! Even just to see the dino fossils. Big recommendation to bring some water and refreshments out with you!  more »
  • Visited Cable Beach on our 2nd day arrived in Broome. It was a bit drizzling but not for long. Would love to come back for the sunset. Nice and very quiet. Good for a walk or just a picnic.  more »
