Alice Springs Desert Park
Alice Springs Desert Park portrays Australia's central desert environment, a rare blend of plants, birds, animals, and people. This facility contains native animals and plants representative of the dry central region and contributes to the wildlife preservation through research programs and public education. The area is culturally important to the local Arrernte people, once known as this land's traditional owners. Much of the work is performed under the auspices of this indigenous group, who are caretakers of the park. Stop by to hear interesting lectures, such as the aboriginal use of local plants for food, or visit the nocturnal exhibit, situated in a low-light building with offset day and night schedule to induce the night critters to come in the early morning before it gets too hot. Loved this park. It had a great setup, and I can tell they care for their animals. The staff were very accommodating, and the guided tours and displays throughout the day were great. Most of the entertainment of this park relies on their guided tours throughout the day. This is a great place to spend an entire day at. Enjoy!

This is such a great place. Its my favourite part of coming to Alice Springs. The bird show and all the animals are amazing. Will be coming back again when I come back to Alice. And the cafe food was very good and surprisingly the coffee tasted really good.
