Enjoy a panoramic view of the city and admire a symbol of Armenia at Victory Park and Statue of Mother Armenia, a green area overlooking Yerevan. The monumental, 51 m (167 ft) metal figure of a sword-bearing woman stands on a huge basalt pedestal resembling a three-nave Armenian basilica. The pedestal, which once supported a colossal sculpture of Stalin, houses a military museum commemorating World War II Victory Day. Look for the conserved Soviet Katyusha multiple rocket launcher and other artillery pieces on display in the surrounding park. Take a turn around the green grounds, rent a paddleboat in the manmade lake, or visit the onsite amusement park. The height of the Armenian woman, which holds a long sword, symbolizes peace, obtained by force, in Armenia. The statue overlooks Turkey, the long history of Armenia. The woman is also an inscription for those women who fought in Armenian wars against the Turks and Kurds. The height of the sculptor's base is 22 meters and the statue's height is about 30 meters. Around the statue are a number of war vessels from 20th-century wars, such as a Ilyushin, a Ruby, a tank and a Russian larva, and a rocket-and-air ground missile. The views of the city are stunning. Inside the statue, which has previously been replaced by the statue of Stalin downed, a small military museum, commemorating World War II, 4 Armenian towers fighting alongside the Russians during World War II, War R...
It is nice but for me, since I visited in winter, was not so amazing. The amusement part was close and I can say there was almost nobody else me & my friend. I suggest to visit it in soring or summer.
The park is quite big and there's this war museum inside which you could visit free of charge and it is worth a visit. But it's all poorly maintained. It's a lonely place so you might enjoy it if you'd like to take a walk away from city noise but that's about it. And there's this view point overlooking Yerevan.
