Tanahat Monastery (Armenian: Թանահատի վանք), is an 8th-century monastery located 7 km south-east of Vernashen village in the Vayots Dzor Province of Armenia. It was built between the 8th and 13th centuries.

  • Another day another ruined Monastery! There are so many old monastic ruins in the Yeghadzor region of Armenia and as usual they are remotely situated but worth visiting if in the area.  more »

  • For me this is the best place in Vayots dzor region! There is something mystical in this place. The historians claim that this was the place of the legendary Gladzor university. The monastery is small, cozy and cute. It has a small sundial on its wall. From this site you can see Arkaz, another monastery close it.
