Museo del Fin del Mundo, Ushuaia

#2 of 7 in Museums in Ushuaia
In the world's southernmost city, Museo del Fin del Mundo was founded in 1979 to preserve and present the natural and social history of the region. In the first hall, you'll find the large figurehead from the Duchess of Albany, a British vessel shipwrecked nearby in 1893. Elsewhere, artifacts related to the indigenous population are neatly displayed and explained, detailing the progress of native peoples over the course of some 8,000 years. • It summarizes the origins of the population of Ushuaia, from the indigenous to the first inhabitants. Samples of native fauna can also be seen.
