It connects the city of San Martín de los Andes by Route 40 asphalted (some 21km) attached to the beautiful river until the junction with Route 63 (station of gendarmerie) with direction to Villa Meliquina and bordering its lake, the road is ground-gravel, acceptable, also pass by the Pueb The Meliquina of a series of beautiful casitas and inns that coexist harmoniously next to the lake that bears his name, all the environment that you will appreciate is really nice, and invites you to a rest in its quiet beaches or on the shores of the river. Following and passing the village arrive at the bridge over the river Filo Hua Hum, pass through the Ranger's house, later splice with the route 64 towards Lake Filo Hua Hum, (great place for fly fishing) after the crossing, it is possible to follow the route provi Ncial 63 and after about 5 kilometers you reach to stone house or Ruca Cura, a natural cave that I explained hundreds of years ago was shelter of the first settlements, then pass by the river Caleufu, in which in season it is possible to observe trout jumping in AG UAS transparent, from here the road gets a little rough (not recommended low cars) pass through different slopes, fertile valleys, mountains inviting the imagination. The main viewpoint is one 47 km approx. from the beginning of gravel of Route 63 offers a wide wooden platform in which you can appreciate an image that varies completely the time in which you visit, from much snow in winter (only adventurous with good vehicle and chains) until the spring something less in summer and the majesty of the autumn the total of the route if not take out the account are some 135km important: the route ends at Confluence, (Union of the Limay and Traful rivers), sector in which until the end of November of the 2018 It worked a service station, and a parador but an eye! Do not count with refueling here because it is closed for renovations, so to influence the trip with full tank, the alternative if the idea is to return to San Martin is from confluence hardly marries the service station (closed) can splice the return by the Route 65 and after traveling 36 KS, arrive in a small town like Villa Traful, a must, here is a service station that although not the most modern, you get out of a hurry, after enjoying this splendid place (there are good restaurants if you want ALM Luff or take tea or eat rich portions of cakes) continue along the same route 65, after traveling (all dirt and gravel) about 32 km. You reach Route 40 "of the Seven Lakes", and from there you can return to San Martín de los Andes after a few 80Km. Note : According to the route that make partial 110, semi 140 about 220km references: 20 km-point Panorama Split Brook 25 km-beautiful river 30 km-Lake Meliquina 35 km-Paraje Villa Meliquina 50 km-river Caleufú 55 km-Lake Filo Hua Hum 60 km-Path step of the Có Rdoba 95 km-Lake Traful 100 km-locality confluence 100 km-Limay River 110 km-Paraje traful
Very good scenery!!!
Tour a must for who goes to Bariloche. Interesting travel the route of the seven Lakes, proceed to San Martín de Los Andes and return by the Paso de Córdoba. You will kill two birds with one stone: both roads are beautiful! Oh! And don't forget to pass by the Mirador de Arrayán, close to San Martín.
