Centro Civico, San Carlos de Bariloche

Monument · Landmark
The symbol of the city, Centro Civico surprises many visitors with its Alpine-style architecture and fine views of Nahuel Huapi Lake. Made from distinctive greenish stone and dating back to 1940, the complex houses many of the city's important offices, such as police headquarters, a library, and the city council. The most popular part of the complex is the Francisco P. Moreno Museum of Patagonia, which displays everything from the natural to the cultural history of the region. The square in front of the complex is dominated by the statue of General Julio Argentino Roca, former president of Argentina. • this entire place will remind you of Germany, nice buildings and a few blocks from there, the main avenue starts, where you can check out the oh so many chocolate stores. Very nice.
  • Neat little square. Not much going on at any given time, but cool place to chill.
