Museo Gauchesco y Parque Criollo Ricardo Guiraldes
Take a tour of an informative institution proudly dedicated to preserving local culture and traditions at Museo Gauchesco y Parque Criollo Ricardo Guiraldes. Opened in 1938 in a purpose-built building on an almost 90 hectare (222 acre) plot of land, this museum takes the form of an old estate surrounded by a moat. A drawbridge marks the entrance, while colonial tiling on the roof and whitewashed walls remain the attraction's main features. The theme carries on inside, with several rooms filled with artifacts dedicated to explaining the local culture and the artistic, engineering, and agricultural heritage of the area. Many years ago I had attended the museum and now it was a pleasant surprise to find it in excellent condition and better than before despite the flood that suffered in 2009. It's not much to see, but it's an interesting visit, just like pulpshops. I regret to note a strong ideology in the explanations and comments, offering a controversial version of the history of the Argentine countryside, I suppose in tune with those who have been mayor in these years. It's a shame that spaces that belong to everyone are used to make politics. Other than that, it's worth the visitView original

The building was erected to hold the museum. Up. Valuable family collection. Down. Does not respect all architectural feature of 19th century.
