  • One of the (if not THE) most interesting museums that Salta has to offer. The layout of each of the showcases was neatly organised, as well as the information describing them. The entirety of the museum has descriptions in both Spanish and English, which makes it easily approachable no matter where you're from. The place is, as expected, spotless and they fully respect Covid-19 protocols. Under the current circumstances, you need to book in advance if you want to visit it and the pricing was appropriate. The main reason to visit the museum is to meet the "Children of Lullaillaco", children that were "buried" during the time of the Incas and they are being cryogenically kept by the museum. It's a fascinating visit that will surely expand your knowledge of Inca culture and society.
  • A great place not to be missed in Salta! It is quite small but gives a lot of information about the Inca history and traditions and has many very well conserved artifacts. But the most important part of the visit are the three amazingly well conserved mummies of children buried more than 500 years ago. The museum is directly connected to the conservation laboratory which keeps the mummies under controlled environment to preserved them.
