Feast your eyes on waves of rainbow rocks undulating down the side of mountains as you wind your way along Quebrada de Humahuaca, a scenic road linking northern Argentina to Bolivia. Ranging from beige to deep reds, rich browns, and even violet, the rocks look amazing at any time of day, as they subtly change color according to the light. Pull over and look out over Hornocal, perhaps the most vivid formation along the road, and take some memorable photos. Put Quebrada de Humahuaca into our Humahuaca route builder site and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • First of all get lost in its streets and enjoy its colors and murals full as well as inspiring phrases (I leave some). But I tell you what to do in Humahuaca in one day: La Quebrada de Humahuaca, in Jujuy, Argentina, is famous for its incredible landscapes. It is also a Natural and Cultural Heritage of Humanity declared by UNESCO. If you still do not know the north of Argentina, on your next visit you can not miss this place. Its ravines, valleys and the kindness of its people invite you to experience a real contact with nature and, without a doubt, you will want to return. In addition to being super picturesque, there are many things to visit, such as the Independence Monument, which stands out both for its size and for being in one of the highest parts of Humahuaca. In the central square of the town, there is the Cathedral Church Of Our Lady of candelaria, the Cabildo de Humahuaca, which currently functions as a museum and on the clock of its tower every noon comes a mobile image of San Francisco Solano to give the blessing to those present. Like the whole North, it is full of handicrafts and it is worth walking through its streets to appreciate its constructions, which still retain its traditional appearance. It's full of street art so get lost in its streets and read every sentence carefully.... Many are full of teachings! Coqueros kisses touring Argentina IG: @cocachanelok

  • Fantastic views!
  • This is one of the most beautiful natural sceneries in the world. The drive to Hornocal is a bit long and uncomfortable (unpaved road for 20km) but the view of the "cierro de los 14 colores" is all worth it (picture attached). Absolutely stunning, a must see if you are in the area.
