Trip Planner: South America / Argentina / Central Argentina / Province of Cordoba / Cordoba / Iglesia de Los Capuchinos
Stop and take a second look at Iglesia de Los Capuchinos to convince your eyes you're not just seeing things--the twin-spired church is, in fact, missing its left spire. What might seem like an unfinished job actually represents the death of the body, while the completed right spire depicts the soul's ascension to heaven. Step inside to absorb the dazzling blue ceiling and appreciate the church's renowned paintings and striped columns. Although it seems much older, the Franciscan church was only completed in 1936. Using our custom trip planner, Cordoba attractions like Iglesia de Los Capuchinos can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

I was fascinated by architecture. We happened to hook the schedule of the guided tour ($250 x person), where we climbed to 40 meters high until we reach the terrace. The guide a genius, explained everything very well! It should be noted that this part can only be accessed with such a visit, and is done by quite narrow spiral staircase. In the middle I thought it wasn't coming; but when you're up it's worth the effort. An amazing panoramic view!
I have been to many churches throughout South America and this one definitely stands out -both beautiful and unique. Must see while in Cordoba. Although I did not, you can also climb one of the towers for 200 pesos
I went on a guided tour to better know this church. The tour is reasonably priced. We got to climb the stairs for a wonderful view on the tour. The story of the building is conducted in Spanish and quite detailed so brush up on your Spanish.
