Trip Planner: South America / Argentina / Northern Argentina / Province of Tucuman / Amaicha del Valle / Museo de la Pachamama
Visit the quirky Museo de la Pachamama, designed by self-taught painter and sculptor Hector Cruz. Divided into four rooms, the museum houses a collection of local stones and minerals, models of indigenous houses, tools, clothing, and musical instruments. Two galleries exhibit the artist's paintings and tapestries, made from local wool. Roam the large courtyard to see abundant sculptures of the fertility goddess Pachamama and other deities sprawled around a stone patio and cacti plants. Museo de la Pachamama Reviews
Es un lugar digno se ser visitado. Una obra de arte en cada rincon que se mire. Absolutamente recomendable. more »It is a worthy place to be visited. A work of art in every rincon you look at. Absolutely recommendable.

The entrance costs 200 pesos and gives access to the museum (which is more of an art gallery) composed of its stone sculptures and 4 rooms. All exterior and sculptures are made of stones stolen from the valley (in my personal opinion that is not right as they were hundreds of trucks). The rooms are: Room 1: exhibition of rocks from different mines and regions (very cute as a museum of natural sciences) Room 2: replicas of the artist of vessels and elements of the history of the area (you can see the royals in the ruins quilmes) Room 3 : artist tapestries (excellent) Room 4: paintings by the artist (excellent) Then you can go to a souvenir area where jewelry, typical local crafts and works by Héctor Cruz are sold.
this museum is worth any travel! Must see once in Your life what this artist has created in person. Excellent presentation how the indios lived and in any case ask to see his huge paintings in the last building. You will never forget take at least two hours to appreciate all
Amazing place in the middle of nowhere. Worth the drive.
