  • The Roman ruins of Djemila are exceptional and the site is quite large. The scenery in the background makes the ruins unforgettable. It was great to see so many Algerians visiting.  more »
  • We start from Setif, for Cuicul, the weather is slightly windy but very sunny in this month of April. Many class of children precede us in buses that surpass us on the road, we are on a Saturday, the walk of the ruins promises to be disturbed and that is exactly what happens. As much as my first visit in 2007 of this site was marked by solemnity, as this one takes all of the Carnival. Everywhere groups of young people screaming to kill head, playing the Derbouka and doing everything to get noticed by the groups of young girls, to top it all the ruins and monuments are escalated by all, difficult to take pictures. I still succeed to appreciate avoiding the crowd to appreciate this majestic site, founded in 96 under the reign of the emperor Nerva, who crossed the centuries, I admire the Ark of Caracalla, the Temple of Septime, the place of the Forum and the Capitol that are so ravissem for the eyes, the Pinnacle is undoubtedly the Roman theatre or we are witnessing in spite of a verbal Joule between two school classes, I regret however the absence of explanatory panels, people do not seem to know what they see and it remains well pity, moreover, the terms are transformed into wild latrines, that she pity to see these ruins so soiled, the common apart from the entrance fee of 100 DA does not do anything visible, the ruins are by place taken part of the crazy herbs, but the site remains very beautiful, I would come back for sure... but in the morning and weekday
