Known as the "Pink City" because of the color of the stone used for many of its notable structures, Jaipur draws visitors with its chaotic street life and a slew of colorful bazaars selling everything from handmade pottery to tie-dye scarves.
Spend the 12th (Fri) spotting exotic species with a safari tour. There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Amber Fort, admire the striking features of Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors), see the sky in a new way at Jantar Mantar - Jaipur, and get engrossed in the history at City Palace of Jaipur.

Kolkata (Calcutta) to Jaipur is an approximately 3-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. Plan for little chillier nights when traveling from Kolkata (Calcutta) in January since evenings lows in Jaipur dip to 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
