Thungyai - Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuaries, Thailand

(a few reviews on the web)
Forest Wildlife Area
Though somewhat lesser-known, Thungyai - Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuaries has World Heritage Site status for the abundance of vegetation and diverse array of animal life. Stretching across 600,000 hectares (1,482,632 acres), the park remains one of the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia, and contains almost all the forest types found there. Head to one of the two viewing towers, or take a walk to catch sightings of the park's residents, which include tigers, elephants, leopards, deer, wild boar, and a long list of others. To get the most out of your visit, come with a guide who will not only help you find the remote park, but will spot and identify the animals so you don't miss a thing. In spite of the abundant wildlife, you'll have to be patient for sightings, so it's not recommended for young children. Stay in the camping area within the park, or opt for bungalows just outside the grounds. Put Thungyai - Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuaries into our Ban Rai vacation builder and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.
