Climb the 309 steps up to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, a sacred Buddhist temple set on top of a mountain overlooking Chiang Mai. Take in extensive views of the city below before admiring the impressive artistry of the temple's main buildings and decorative flourishes. Said to have been established in the late 14th century, this well-maintained place of worship remains the subject of many myths and legends, with the truth of its construction and development still a mystery. The evocative design and enigmatic heritage create a powerful atmosphere in the secluded mountaintop location. If you'd rather skip the stairs, take advantage of the efficient tram service. 높은곳에 위치 하고 있기 때문에 치앙마이 전경을 볼수있습니다 more »1000 meters above sea level on DOI suthep. Chiang Mai University, seen in the Te, in front of the dehydration. Take 25 minutes, which is seen in the Te trail, which winds through this motion sickness. When you arrive at the entrance to the stairs or take the cable car could climb. Not so hard to recommend going up the stairs. Located in the high places, because you can see panoramic views of Chiang Mai

Die knaoo 356 Treppenstufen sind gut zu bewältigen, ansonsten gibt es auch einen Lift. Schöne Tempelanlage über den Wolken von Chiang MAi more »The knaoo 356 steps are good to deal with, otherwise, there is also a lift. Beautiful temple complex above the clouds of Chiang MAi

Really nice must do. Have amazing view of not clouded or raining. Very reasonable entry fee (50) and the vibe is chilled. There is even a yoga meditation center if you follow the arrows. Spent a few minutes in their and felt very laid back after. Recommend doing by scooter! Really nice drive.

A 15km winding mountain drive to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep and the 300 intricately carved mythical Naga Serpent steps leads to near the top of the“Doi Suthep/Mount Suthep". Included in our tour was the cable car ride and before seeing the pagodas, statues, murals, bells, a museum and shrines, we were reminded on appropriate dressing and removing footwear. So, I wrapped the scarf I always carry while travelling around my waist and walked into the temple - a must see iconic tourist destination, built as a Buddhist monastery in 1383 and is still a working monastery till today. This site is well maintained, the entrance fee is reasonable and "Lo And Behold" the Chiang Mai view/mountain scenery. The golden spire which decorates the centre of temple was the first sight, next the Emerald Buddha beautiful copy statue whereas the real statue I have seen in Bangkok as well. Outside this area there's the shrine to the White Elephant, the story on how the temple was founded and the world’s largest gongs, lines of bells and orchids are within the wide walkway.

Climbing the steps up to Doi Suthep is a must when visiting Chiang Mai. It can be very crowded especially at weekends and of course Buddhist holidays but even then the atmosphere here is still very peaceful and calm. Spectacular view over the beautiful City oft Chiang Mai if not to hazy. Feels and looks almost like a pagoda in neighbouring Myanmar.

Worth visiting when you are in Chiang Mai. You need to pay 50 baht/person for a cable car ride to the temple, which at the top of a hill. You can also enjoy Chiang Mai city from here. It has many Buddha Statues from different styles as well as to learn the Buddhist journey before He born till he died. You pay respect to the Pagoda by a three times clockwise walking rounds it.

Other reviews cover a lot of detail. For those who can't manage the stairs, take the enclosed cable car. It's in the building behind the ATM signs. Remember to abide by the dress code.
