4.3
#6 of 76 in Museums in Bangkok
Located within Bangkok's famed complex of royal palaces, The Ananta Samakom Throne Hall includes a museum and a reception hall noted for its one large dome and six smaller ones. This structure served as the headquarters of the People's Party and held the country's first national assembly before reopening as a museum. You can take a guided tour every 30 minutes to see domed ceilings featuring the famous paintings by artists Galileo Chini and Carlo Riguli, which trace the history of the Chakri Dynasty. Be sure to dress appropriately, which means sleeved shirts and pants for men, and long skirts or sarongs for women. • Worth a visit for both the structure and the precious artifacts inside. Forbidden to take pictures, I recommend.

  • If you have visited the Palace (and will you or you've done so) entry includes this place also. Although it is a little away from the other places that are usually visit I think that if you have time worthwhile. The building, which isn't bad, houses a museum. The first parts are impressive but I personally would jump the past me. You can stick a long time inside and I think that there are better things to do. Don't forget to give you a ride on the outside of the building (but within the complex), very good pictures can be made on a sunny day. In short, since you are going to pay for the Palace come and see this also, but be clear that when weary wisely to get away.
