If you want to have just the highlights and a short walk, then use a bus or a taxi to go to the "S P Jain" bus station on Alexandra Road. At Alexandra Road, there is a possibility to enter the Souther...  more »

The approximately 8 km long hiking trail directly in the city combines many smaller sites in a route (Faber Mountain, Henderson Wave, canopy walk,...). The way is perfectly signposted and easily accessible. One has to cross any major roads. Especially the 1.3 km long Forrest walk is very impressive. There is always great views towards the city. In any case, take sunscreen and plenty of water. It is only a pity that the paths in the jungle-like nature are also all concreted. Here I would have liked a natural gravel road.

This is a rather special and spectacular in-city hike. Go for it if you want a hike combining thick forest with landscaped gardens and cityscape views from the elevated boardwalks.  more »

Great getaway inside the heart of the city. A very refreshing walk, best in early morning and evening times. Well accessible by buses/mrt. Good placement of amenities .

    1. Nature trail right inside the city. 2. Multiple exits to main roads. 3. Slip free paths. 4. Paths get illuminated in evening, dark. 5. Gradient is low. So going up will test your heart and lungs but is still easy on knees. 6. Lots of spots of shutterbugs.

A long walk that is definitely not advisable to go visit under the afternoon sun, as there is no roof at all until you reach the very end. The long walk itself is fine, but it would be nice if they add more vending machine selling drinks.

Stretches over 10km from Mount Faber to Labrador Park and easily accessible from the popular Vivocity Mall near Sentosa, Southern Ridges is one of the most popular and scenic nature walk in Singapore. Enjoy panoramic views of the Southern Coast and CBD along the route.

Where to stay in Singapore

For leading chain hotels, head to the area around Orchard Road, considered the tourist center of Singapore due to its varied selection of rooms, good travel links, and tourist-focused businesses. At the eastern end of the road, you'll find more luxurious and expensive options, with hotels located in impressive colonial-era architecture. North and south of this main artery, backpacker hostels and budget hotels provide affordable rooms with basic facilities.
