Alleviate Fish Spa, Singapore

Spa / Wellness
Try out the famous spa treatment that uses live fish to exfoliate your skin at Alleviate Fish Spa. Located in Chinatown, this clean facility is known for the popular treatment in which visitors submerge their feet into warm water and tiny fish remove all dead skin, leaving feet smooth and rejuvinated. If you are interested in experiencing this unusual treatment and tradition for yourself, put this attraction on your list. If possible, call ahead and make an appointment because the spa can get quite busy; it doesn't always have room for walk-ins. • Amazing experience, my partner and I went in while on holiday for the experience. Very glad we came here, owner is very passionate about his service and for good reason! Top quality backed with results. Fairly priced too ($30 for 30mins), my partner and I had a great time. Thank you!
  • Fun experience that I would definitely recommend! The location is tucked away upstairs in a hole in the wall, so it's slightly hard to find, but not impossible. I've wanted to get my feet eaten up by fish for a while now, and this was definitely a great place to go for exactly this. :P Though this was in a slightly touristy location of Chinatown, the owner was Singaporean, and he gave us some good local tips (including where to go for some authentic Hainanese Chicken Rice)! The owner was extremely hospitable and welcoming. There were about 4-5 seats with fish tanks beneath them. Everything was very well maintained and clean/hygienic. It is Singapore after all! We began by washing off our feet -- good idea since we had been walking around all day. He gave us a very appropriate warning that the initial feeling would be like electric shocks. He was right. Those fish were mighty hungry. 30 minutes later, our feet were smooth as a baby's bottom. Okay, not quite. But they were much smoother than when we came in. It was like a deep clean for your feet. Wish I had one of these near my home for a regular cleaning. Awesome experience, not to mention photo opportunities. The owner was very helpful with taking photos for us (since we were a bit preoccupied)...
  • Staff were very friendly and helpful. Felt very relax during the whole session. Individual tank was very hygienic for people who might worried getting disease or uncomfortable sharing with others
  • This was great fun....felt weird at first... but didn't hurt at all......you have to try it
  • This was my first experience at a fish spa. I wanted to try it out for 10 mins but the minimum package was 30 mins for $30. It felt weird for the first 10 mins then slowly I got used to it. The skin around my feet did feel soft, but I doubt I would wanna do this again . It's definitely good for a one time experience and the owner was quite entertaining!

Where to stay in Singapore

For leading chain hotels, head to the area around Orchard Road, considered the tourist center of Singapore due to its varied selection of rooms, good travel links, and tourist-focused businesses. At the eastern end of the road, you'll find more luxurious and expensive options, with hotels located in impressive colonial-era architecture. North and south of this main artery, backpacker hostels and budget hotels provide affordable rooms with basic facilities.
