Legian Beach, Legian

3.3
Relax on a popular strip of coastline at Legian Beach. Grab a cold drink and experience the sunset, try out a range of water sports. With clean white sand and clear waters, the beach offers a quieter experience than many in the region; convenient features such as restaurants, cafes, and bars are dotted along the main stretch and allow you to make a day of it. Watch for local artisans selling handicrafts, ideal for small souvenirs. Use our Legian holiday planner to add Legian Beach and other attractions to your Legian vacation plans.

An extension of that of Kuta Beach. A good spot to learn surfing. Rates for a course from one hour to 200 rupiah (we'll leave the Board after). Rate for 2 sun loungers and a parasol at 100 rupiah for the day. Traders on the beach have no regard for cleanliness is bad (butts, corks, capsules)

This about sums up legian beach. Almost every single sq inch is taken up by little commercial ventures that places chairs and ottomans and so on on the sand and to sit there one has to buy drinks. It is also packed with vendors selling stuff. The beach could be better cleaned but it is still ok when compared to Malaysia. Sunset is nice though.

    great view when eating food

Huge beach with waves, ideal for those who want to start surfing, very well controlled by the lifeguard. There are many locals, quite simple, they offer beer and cocktails with low quality food but that offer views of a beautiful sunset over the ocean. Possibility to rent beach chairs and umbrellas on the cheap. Often pass street vendors, everyone is friendly even when waste. Avoid like the plague the salespeople behind the beach, they sell only shoddy goods and knockoffs at absurd prices.

Where to stay in Legian

As established resort town, Legian offers sleeping options to suit most budgets. East of Jelan Legian (farther from the sea), prices are lower and accommodations simpler, with comfortable guesthouses and no-frills hotels the norm. Heading west of the main thoroughfare, you can find surfer shacks, hostels, and economical apartment rentals. The prime real estate remains clustered near the coast, consisting primarily of pricey boutique and resort hotels.
