Mughal Garden, New Delhi

4.5
#4 of 28 in Parks in New Delhi
Displaying Persian-style architecture, Mughal Garden was built by the Mughals and displays water features and open, rectangular spaces. Running water plays an important part in the park's design, shown in pools, fountains, and canals. A variety of trees and flowers bloom along stone walkways, but guards do not usually let people sit and loiter. The park is not always open to the public, so check the schedule before your visit. Also, try arriving early to avoid long lines at the entrance. Plan your Mughal Garden visit and explore what else you can see and do in New Delhi using our New Delhi trip itinerary planning tool .

  • This place its nice garden with the beautiful and have vary collection of trees and flowers. Where you can have fun with friends and have a good day. It was totally open place for everyone without any charge. We can see ancient plants which included all types like herbs, shrubs and animals last but not the least musical fountain. Flowers really attracts towards them due to their elegance.
  • It is awesome garden just what can you expect from the prime minister of India, although he doesn't always in here but it's his and it's maintained by our money so it's good. There are plenty of different types of flowers to smell from and the place is just mesmerizing. The beauty of this place engulfs you and you can float in the air while smelling the beautiful scent of above 400 different flowers. This is just heaven of flowers and the greatest thing of beauty India could offer. Although it's not open all year round but when it's open you must take your time to go in there and enjoy the beauty of the nature. Overall this place is wonderful.
  • Awesome place with all the flora fountains natural beauty. Best thing is you get to see the president residence, tax payers money we spent 😜. Nicely maintained and water and food stalls are available. Water is free food not. You may face issues with commute as it’s far from metro and local transport not easily available so take your own ride or book a cab.
  • We went to Mughal Garden in the month of March. The place was jam packed as it was last day of its opening for this year. I had very high hopes with Mughal Garden. It took us a while to reach the actual part of Mughal Garden where you will see various flowers like species of roses, tulip, marigold, etc. The garden also has a botanical garden with the names and its use of all the plants and shrubs. The place opens for a very short period during the months of Feb - March every year. A visit to Mughal Garden is necessary if you are in Delhi.
  • Beautiful human made landscaping, complete with British-inspired follies made in Mughal-inspired styles. The gardens are dense with flowers of a wide variety. Visit the Bonsai enclosure and the patches of medicinal herbs, all labeled with their scientific and common name. Stroll past sparkling fountains and feast your eyes on the spectacular circular garden, and take in what for most people is their only chance to see the magnificent Rashtrapati Bhavan from close quarters. Parking is limited so using public transport is recommended. Wheelchairs, rest stops, free and clean water and a relatively clean public toilet make this one of the better managed tourist spots in the Capital. Refreshments are disappointing, with a severely limited menu of junk food sold in a barren park without ANY seating. Take a look at the souvenir shops though, if you care for mementos. Photography is permitted. Wear airy clothing and comfortable walking/running footwear. Keep 2-3 hours aside for a leisurely experience.
