Marvel at one of the nation's most renowned mausoleums at Humayun's Tomb, a World Heritage Site displaying a fusion of both Mughal and Persian architectural features. Built in 1565 on orders from Akbar, the son of the Emperor Humayun, the mausoleum represents the first in a long line of "garden-tombs" that defined Mughal architecture over the following centuries. You can admire the intricate red sandstone and white marble construction, topped with an impressive dome, as you wander the extensive grounds dotted with shrines and monuments. Enter the memorial to get a glimpse of Humayun's final resting place. Many of the architectural designs used on the tomb and its surrounding buildings helped to inspire the Taj Mahal. • India have the Moghuls volgeplempt with tombs. Have you seen this, then you can feel free to skip the others. It is the oldest, with the most beautiful story and served as an example for the Taj Mahal.

  • It was an awesome experience being here. It's like a fort. They're other tombs too alongside the Humayun's tomb that you should not miss. Greenery and cleanliness is maintained. No eatable is allowed inside the premise. So you are advised to get your stomach filled before leaving for the place as you won't get eatable even outside of premise. Only drinks are allowed. Unfortunately, I didn't take much pictures to post.
  • Beautiful place to visit. Entry charges are there around rupees 4O something, not sure about the amount tho. Well maintained and historic place. They got information centres too before the main tomb. The main tomb is really maintained and tourist attraction obviously. There are some food shops also outside the tomb.
  • It's not just good it's just great. It's great in terms of architecture in terms of beauty, in terms of scenic design language and in terms of everything which a tourist or traveller want in a historic monument or in an archaeological building. It has 6 small fountains which are working as gems in its beauty. The red stone fort has it's own identity which never been diversified nor neglectable. A masterpiece of Mughal era speaks it's greatness. A must visit place for every traveller or tourist who is in Delhi or make plan for visiting Delhi
  • Great history of India ...this place tell a lot about Indian kingdom. People came here from everywhere in the world to see the culture of India and the art which defines what India actually is. This tomb is in Delhi a very famous city in the word ... Humayun tomb is heritage of India. Definitely you can spend whole day here with lot of curiosity. If you never seen it and curious to know about Indian history then definitely come and enjoy.
  • This is a historical place and world heritage! However, inside the tomb there's no ventilation and poor lighting. When people visit there's no proper sight inside and smells as well. While outside the doors it is quite well with good greenery and sights.
