Flea Market Shopping
Get right into the thick of things at Dilli Haat, a bustling open-air market. Opened in 1994 on 2.4 hectares (6 acres) of land, the market has the appearance and atmosphere of a traditional village bazaar, with thatched roof cottages and kiosks housing the colorful wares of trades and craftspeople from all corners of the country. Choose from crafted items such as rosewood and sandalwood carvings, camel hide footwear, and an extensive array of gems and jewelry. The market also offers a good range of street food stalls, selling local and national cuisine. • # Entry fee costs Rs. 30. Beautiful place to wind down to! GET FRIENDS to hang out with! BEWARE of delhi heat, choose visit time wisely! Finding a Washroom was a bit hard without any signs pointing the direction and items can be costly. It's perfect if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place with lots of shopping option and tasty food stalls! (though shopping is mostly decorations, jewelry and ornaments, clothes, toys and bit more for females). From my personal experience, I actually carried a guitar inside and played it with my friends! It's a open wide area surrounded by bazaar and greenery. The fruit beer here is a special and must try. There is an amazing poster shop outside Delhi Haat, I really loved it and what makes Delhi Haat best is that it's just outside INA METRO. A must visit in a hectic place like Delhi !
  • This is a designated area in New Delhi that offers many crafts. Notice that there is an entrance fee. Most vendors are willing to accept credit cards, even if they don't have a card reader. They'll simply ask a colleague. Vendors can bit persistent sometimes. After you purchased something, they'll insist on selling you more things. On the other hand, it's possible to bargain and after buying something sellers will recommend fellow sellers to reduce their prices because you've been a good customer. Anyway, expect higher prices than outside. On the positive side, people speak English and credits cards are welcome. Also, safety level is much higher.
  • Neat place. Lot if activity. I believe the Indian handicrafts has much more to offer. Hope they can get some more and new ranges. All in all a good place to spend time.
  • Nice place but parking is an issue long detour required to park near the back gate. Handicraft shopping hub but bargaining is the art to be emulated here. Eateries are good decide the cuisine beforehand or you will be spoilt for choices. All in all an experience in itself and one can spend hours together exploring food and crafts of diverse Indian states.
  • Great place to spend the evenings.. shop till you drop some of the most beautiful craft pieces from across the country. And amazing fast food joints
