  • Visited the place during non briding season..still worth the time since its reasonably well managed. Should be visited with a good guide.  more »
  • I personally didn't like the experience at all. It was a walk with lot of mosquitoes I won't suggest it to the couples. You might see a few birds but that too based on luck. Not personally recommended...  more »
  • We couldn't find any single bird ,quite disappointed. But the place is good for the stressed removal and give a fresh mind.  more »

  • Entry pass 50 rs and extra parking fee.... Its very high.... No bird into the forest....... Only see many couples.... Only Best for couple....... Not for family..... The bad behavior of the security police staffs..........
  • It's really calm and peaceful , there are multiple watch towers. It's lush green and clean. Best time to watch bird is in morning or in late afternoon. If you are not that patient you may not be able to watch the birds. You can also rent punting boat to drift along the streams that run along the sanctuary.
  • Big thanks to bird sanctuary staffs. They informed us that there are no birds now and this (November) isn't season even though the board says season time is July to March. Entrance ticket: 50 rupees Parking ticket separate.. 15 rupees for two wheeler and higher for bigger vehicles. We can either go inside in private boat (separate charge for it) or you can walk inside the sanctuary. Two Kms one side
  • Preserved the nature in the natural way. Almost 2km of walking through a forest is absolutely amazing. certainly not for elderly and children. Taking guide service would make the walk interesting. There are swamps and nature trails where you can go walk and observe nature, including some viewing towers.
  • Bird Sanctuary is spread across 14 acres and would take around 2 hours to stroll across the premises. Best time to visit is between June & August. Entry fee is 50 per head and parking fee for car will be 25/-

Where to stay in Kumarakom

Despite its heavy reliance on tourism, Kumarakom offers surprisingly few accommodations, with just a handful of resorts sitting near the lakeshore. You can find a larger selection of places to stay in Likkalam, a short drive to the south. If resorts fall outside your budget, look for small guesthouses and holiday rentals, which offer basic amenities and a friendly, comfortable atmosphere. No matter where you stay, you'll never be too far from the water, with many accommodations also offering swimming pools.
