Fort Kochi Beach, Kochi (Cochin)

2.8
Relax in a tranquil and pristine setting of Fort Kochi Beach, where you can observe the so-called Chinese fishing nets, attached to the shore and standing 10 m (33 ft) high and 20 m (66 ft) across. Stroll along the shoreline to reach Fort Kochi, home to one of the oldest churches built by Europeans in India. After cooling off in the water, grab something to eat at one of the many nearby restaurants serving fresh seafood. Take part in one of the many festivals that occur here throughout the year, or look out for dolphins while swimming in the sea. • A thin line of sand boarding to the sea. Littered with souvenir salesmen and stray dogs sifting through piles of garbage.  more »
  • We took a short walk through this area. In addition to Chinese networks, show people, their street stalls and fish was what we liked.

  • Good approach to view the beach. Getting into sea is not very easy. Good parking and jogging track available. Nice for a morning jog.
  • Fort Kochi beach was a wonderful beach. But now it's a dumpy yard of wastes. Can't go there without covering our nose. If you want a wonderful evening in a beach better choose some other beach.
  • Its a good evening destination. You can see lot of people here. You will be happy because of the wind and tides here. Its a good place to take photos. If you love to have a relief from your hectic life for a while, then you must visit this place. Its a good place for evening exercises and walks. You can sit under the trees on a corner here or you can use the seats on the sides of the beach. You can move around the paved path or else you can enjoy the sands in the sea shore
  • Fort Kochi.. must go place for tourist. Nice beach good for water sports, cultural shows performed in nearby auditorium. Good veg n non veg street foods available. Shops for souvenir and local handicraft items.
  • Oohh man this is one of a kind beach. Actually the beach is not the main attraction but the foot path leading to the beach and the associated small stores of fishes and souvenirs. Watching the giant Chinese nets in work are an awesome experience. The paintings on the walls, the stone bund, walkway and everything add to its beauty.
