  • The first European church in India built in 1503 by the Portuguese and renewed by the Dutch and the British. The ancient rope operated fans hanging from the ceiling are rarity. The great Vasco da Gama was buried here in 1524. Although his remains were taken back to Lisboa 14 years later, the tombstone remains intact. But, it needs more careful conservation as the the tomb is totally exposed to weathering phenomena.
  • One of the oldest church in kerala made by foreigners. Vas co da gama's tomb is situated inside the church.
  • It is believed to have cremated the Portuguese navigator Vasco da Gama's body and also says had been taken from here to his native Portugal , again a historically important monument . It is peaceful church with mostly tourists hanging around... preserved with historical Arte-facts.
