Thirunelli Temple, Kalpetta

Very old temple. Unfortunately we reached around 2 PM and the temple was shut. The drive to the temple was through a forested area. We saw a bison. The temple itself is very old fashioned and has intricate designs on its walls. Red tiled roof. very quiet and serene. There is a pathway which leads to a pond and further up to a Ganesha statue surrounded by thick vegetation. Be sure to visit these two spots as well. There is ample parking space right next to the temple. There is also some food joints nearby. Check the timings and plan well.

A very divine and unforgettable experience. The ambiance and surrounding areas of the temple is so beautiful. The God is divine and you can keep seeing him. They have dress code for both men and women. However it is not very strict. The temple is not approachable by wheelchair. It is also not very disabled friendly. Parking is available and charge are reasonable.

One of the oldest Vishnu Temple in Kerala. It is situated midst of the forest. Beautiful scenery. Be sure to be there and leave before dark as wild animals may enter the roads. Never tease them if at all you find any. We feel like we are centuries back in our life.

Had be here for my mother's last rites & I must say it's an unforgettable experience ever. The kind of calmness & purity in the atmosphere of this place is undescribable. Right from the wild animals you see on the road to the streams of papanasini, this place gives you the inner peace & inner satisfaction. The temple is very old & has a rustic feel to it. An interesting fact about this temple would be it's situated in the middle of hills; The entire temple premises is surrounded by forest. You could probably have a feeling that you're in the middle of nowhere.

M not a religious person. Went there for my ma. More than the temple I liked the walk to its papanashini lill pond. The trail is quite, and pretty. It is worth a visit to sit around that trail for sometime
