#6 of 16 in Parks in Kalpetta
Escape the city and head to Kuruvadweep, a group of peaceful islands nestled within 384 ha (950 ac) of lush forest. Take a relaxing bamboo raft ride down the river and jump off at one of the main islands, where you can trek through the vegetation to hidden lakes. Keep your eyes peeled for rare orchids and migratory birds on their journey. Cool off in the refreshing lakes and sit and admire the natural beauty of these islands. Entrance to the islands can be restricted throughout the rainy season and when wild elephants are in the area. Bring sunscreen and pack plenty of water for your visit, but note that food is restricted within the reserve. Arrive early to avoid the crowds. • Best place for trekking / walking through the place is a good experience. The place is neat and clean. Bamboo rafting also good. The place is good for kids and families. Lots of places to see inside the island. The place is nature friendly. Walking through the roads is a great joy as there are so many trees around the way. Testing huts are there which are made of bamboo.
  • Nice spot when you are panning visit to Wayanad. We need to get the boat from the place were we take tickets to reach the island. The forest people pulls a rope and along with the flow of water the boat will move. It's completely man powered. The island have many different places to take bath in water. We can find our private place after spending some time there. Really nice experience
